With the cold weather the past week my wife has not been able to start the Defender (I am presently outside of Sweden presently).
We bought the Defender new 5 years ago, and never had a problem starting with much colder (-20C) weather in Stockholm. I wonder if it is the battery, as it is original, now 5 years old?
note; the engine has no block heater

Could well be the battery, try connect a charger over night and see if it helps, if it starts day after then you know it's the battery which are on its way out.
