I am occasionally in Den Bosch - have grandchildren there. If you live in that area we could have a chat next time I´m there. :D

Winter in Scandinavia can be cold, it might be snow and slippery and you will need good tyres, fit for the purpose. Many of us use studded winter tyres and some of us carry chains for “worst case”.

There are legal requirements for tyres in winter... Someone might tell you the exact details.

The anti freeze level of the coolant is important as well as the washer container. Multipurpose oil 5 – W40, a fresh battery and warm clothing – that should be all. Maybe a check of how much water there is in the brake fluid could be a good idea – in any case.
Petrol and diesel is never a problem, but if you run your Land Rover on gas you are in trouble.

You are very welcome to Sweden and in the area you intend to visit there ar many Land Rovers and you will most certainly be well taken care off. :D

Thanks. We drive a Defender 130 Td4 2008 with all modifications done (had the usual LR trouble), nothing to worry about so far...

Regarding tyres there´s usually an exception for foreign cars, for example german, where there´s a law against studs. But I don´t think the police would be too happy to see summertires in sweden during winter, and most important, for your own sakegood tires is worth the money.
Otherwise if you´re prepared for the worst it selldom happens. Warm clothes, blankets and matches and lights can be a lifesaver, and here in dalarna there are many landroverfriends, so don´t hesitate to ask or stop by.

Best regards Thomas / Hedemora

Nice pictures and a nice way to show them!
You are obviously familiar with our country and will find your ways.
There is a point in what Thomas says. If you are travelling when it´s really cold something hot in thermos bottles to drink if you get stuck and candles to keep a decent temperature in the car is a very good idea.
Vets in northern Sweden prepare in the same way as vets in Australian heat - they are prepared for being stuck out there for a day or two...

That was us. Nice campingsite! Our plan to move to sweden is still going strong. Somewhere between Hudiksval and Sundsval. Depends if we can make a living.
