Dear friends,

On several occasions I´ve driven convoys of various Land Rover, together with Land Rover technicians, in the northernmost part of Sweden in February with temperature down to minus 40 degrees Celsius.
Edfors has pointed out the importance f using local fuel - very important.
We have had several incidents where ventilation from the engine has frozen, resulting in that the engine build up overpressure and the engine oil is pressed out in the engine bay. When the oil low pressure warning lamp goes on it´s late...

The cure is very simple - stop occasionally a few minutes when it´s VERY cold, and the ice will melt.Check engine oil level at the same time.
It´s like old time when you got ice in the carburator in humid weather and temperatures round zero degrees Celsius.

Look out for Jokkmoks Marknad in Jokkmok, Sweden, and when the Sami population celebrate their national holiday first haft of February in Kautokeino in Norway.

At one occasion we had people from LRO with us and they wrote a lot of these trips, If you wish I might find out year and issue - can not remember it right now...

Enjoy your trip -and welcome back if you have more questions.
