Hej Everyone,
I am new to the forum
I visit Sweden every year to fish and visit friends. This year I am travelling from Goteborg to Ostersund and Storuman in my 1977 Series 3. What I would like to know is are there any magazines in Sweden with details of people who repair landrovers. Really just in case I break down I have a few basics like thermostat, fan belt, lights and some tools but would be lost if a universal joint went.
I have tried to join the SLRK but cannot because the membership form will not accept my address, particularly my postal code.
If anyone on my route would need some small spares I could bring them but not too big like engines and gearboxes I already have too much fishing and camping gear

Hej!
I'm sure you can join the slrk. On the website go to: 'klubben' ; 'styrelsen' ; and then to nr 4, Mats Lundblad. Klick on his name and you can send him your request. As far as i know the only one in the middle of Sweden is Eriksson Bil in Borlänge. http://www.rebil.se/ . You can put your request also on the districtpages of this forum. Go to the forumindex, scroll down untill you see the districts. You drive through Jämtland, Dalarna, Värmland, Halland? http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sveriges_l%C3%A4n I live in the middle of sweden but i don't know if i can be of any help when there's a major problem...
Have a good trip!
Willem

Hi Willem,
Thanks for your help. Your information was most helpful. I am not sure which way I will be going yet. I have a friend in Uppsala who I may visit on the way up or on the way back.
To join the Klubb the way you suggest seems to be the best.
Kind Regards
Tim.

Hej Everyone,
Thanks for all your replies. I am not quite sure where I will be going or when other than getting on and off the ferry!
I would like to meet as many landy enthusiasts as I can and would appreciate anyone's phone number so if I am in your district I can give you a ring and maybe we can have a beer or two Send me a PM.
Just getting a small spares kit together and have got to get top & bottom hoses tomorrow. I don't expect them to split as they are only a year old but in the forest fishing on my own......
Now less than a month before I land. Really looking forward to it.

Just got back from my Swedish trip which went very well indeed. The Landy did not miss a beat the whole time.
I am sorry I could not get to see people I had hoped to but due to the bad weather in the north so I stayed in Sveg and my friend came to join me, rather than go to Ostersund, Lycksele, Storuman and back through Uppsala and Stockholm (Holo). The fishing was good everywhere.
Only saw three other Landrovers the whole trip, I thought there would be more, and a lot of people wanted to know how old she was and other things.
A lot of friends at home who thought I was mad to go, were very surprised I managed with no trouble.
Next year I hope to return driving the E4 to Umea and will try to make more time to meet more Landrover owners.
Cheers
Tim

Is your Land Rover Blue?
Hi
No, green with limestone roof. Pretty standard apart from larger tyres on modular rims and spare wheel on the bonnet. Some chequerplate on sides and wing tops.
I guess I must have passed at least one SLRK member somewhere!

I did, where abouts
I had a Defender pass me, I think somewhere on the 44 between Mariestad and Kristinehamn, they all waved a lot when they passed me I also saw another Defender on the 45 above Vanesborg,it looked very well kitted out.
Maybe next year I will get to meet people.

I spent 5 days in Sveg fishing with my friend from Ostersund you should have stopped and introduced yourselves.
Good weather but fishing just about OK. Still we had a good supply of beer and whisky
