Sorry if I have put up too many posts, especially as I cant write in Swedish, I am a newbee. However, does anyone have advice on TD5 90 clutches 2002. I flushed the clutch fluid yesterday it was really dirty. I used a vacume pump. However, I then lost all clutch function, so I bleed again manually, still no joy. Then I back bleed using a pressure pump. I finally managed to get it so I could drive, but the pick up is way too low. I have tried keeping the clutch peddle jammed down with a stick for a hour or so, this let some air out, but its still not right.

I have a new clutch and fly wheel with only 2k on the clock so the issue cant be there.

Any ideas.

Funny how the small jobs always get so big...

P.S. Happy Easter

Hello Michael,
Try parking the car with the front at an angle and the do the same thing with the clutch as you wrote, but keep the clutch pressed for longer than an hour. I had mine like that over night.
It went from about 10cm of pedal action to back normal.

Hi Andrew,

I had the front raise, and clutch down all day. Its helped, thanks. I have ordered a new master and slave cylinder as I think the seal has gone on the master.
When I pump the clutch I keep getting bubbles.

Thanks again for the advice, Land Rover repair really is a dark art.

Cheer Michael

Hi,
check the end of the slave cylinder rod. The end that touch the clutch fork may be worn down. It should be like a round shiny ball. I had similar problem and tried everything with bleeding and so before I found out what the problem was...

Hi Henrik,

Turned out my master cylinder was stuffed, not the seals but the bore was worn out. Take a look-

Regards Michael
